Cessair is a member of the Licentios, a mutant Rebellion that aims to crush the Vlada Par'Gonis and the Norma and free Mutant-kind from subjugation and mistreatment. A young rebel whose family got caught up in a fight between the Inquisition and the Rebellion, his father was captured and he fled to the Rebellion to be protected by them. With his immensely powerful ability to absorb any elemental power thrown at him, he is a dangerous enemy to fight.

With a huge grudge against the Imperium for their treatment of his father, and his own suffering, he is happy to risk his own body and life to fight them. Heavily scarred, his powers are almost too much for his body to handle, though that often doesn't stop him from running into danger headfirst.

He's aggressive and reckless, and often has to be looked out for by the other rebellion members to keep him from throwing his life away in a battle.

  • Has very long and pointed ears, a typical sign of being a mutant.
  • Is a thirteen year old, with squishy cheeks and slight weight to his frame.
  • Part of his body, face and ear is burned off, and his teeth can be seen on the right side.
  • Left arm is a prosthetic up to his elbow, it has a clawed hand with runes carved into it and magic stones embedded in it.

  • Eyes are light blue with white pupils, colour changes depending on the elements or powers he's absorbed.

  • Props for him are primarily his powers, shown through glowing cracks in his skin and holding it in his hand, can change the appearance of his prosthetic depending on the power he's actively using. Can sometimes carry banners or flags for the rebellion. Has a magic stone that holds an image of his father.
  • Poses for him are primarily aggressive, fighting and using his powers, has to catch attacks in his hand in order to be able to absorb it. Can be drawn with any elemental power, and it causes cracks and damage to his skin. Can be drawn covered in blood, chained up, injured, trying to save his father, or struggling to control his powers. Very aggressive, energetic and angry by nature, struggles to calm down even out of a fight.
  • Expressions are rarely calm, he is very emotional and emotive and shows his heart on his sleeve. Often angry and snarling, or cursing, especially when in a fight where he lets his fury at the imperium flare up. When around the rebellion, he's noisy, loud, laughs a lot, grins and is very open with his emotions.
  • Can be drawn with any member of the rebellion, platonically. Is treated as a young sibling by all of them, and they all try to take care of him, though he doesn't tend to show much friendship towards them, he does value not being alone.
  • If drawn with the Imperium, he'd be chained, and struggling, snarling and aggressive with his powers overflowing and threatening to break him.
  • Can be drawn with Jyn, who he has a rivalry with. The two are around the same age so see each other as enemies and rivals and are often aggressively going toe-to-toe whenever they meet.

Ko'Vladis is the main Citadel of Via'Korrik, and the home to both the Inquisition and the Vlada Par'Gonis, the ruling class and religious sect that control and create laws in the world. Magic and mutation have been put to use to benefit those dubbed 'Norma', or non-mutated, and runes and magic have reinforced the technology of the world. An advanced civilisation, where magic makes life far easier, allowing for long distance travel, communication and protection.

Primary power is the ability to absorb and return any power that he comes into contact with, often catching it within his hands the normal medium. Though it can be channeled through any part of his body. Is capable of storing these powers for a short period of time, though it will cause physical decay and discomfort. Is fast and sneaky, trained to be able to handle stealth missions, though would rather charge headfirst into the frontlines. Very combat able, and skilled with knives and daggers, though often abandons them for elemental force.

Was raised by his father, a non-mutant, who fled their homeland to keep him safe. He was captured by the Imperium and killed, leaving him with no other family, though he is treated like a younger brother by the rest of the Rebellion.
Mannerism
Sarcastic and rude, every word out of his mouth is biting and full of attitude. He presents himself as someone with a chip on his shoulder and a lot of anger and aggression to work out on anyone who comes anywhere near. This aggression can be violent, cutting and crude and is used against everyone to keep them at arms length. Despite this nature, which is not fully an act, it covers up a deep frustration and loneliness. Including the trauma of what happened to himself and his father. Struggling to let others in, his prickly and sharp manner can often make him even more frustrated with his lack of skill at communication. There are, however, moments where he allows himself to be a child and this normally comes out in a competitive streak for winning and being the best at everything he does. Generally, fairly reckless, in this pursuit for perfection.
Health
Health depends on power usage, after using it he is prone to illness and his immune system becomes impaired. Arm is cut off at his elbow and replaced by a black, metal prosthetic with silver runes embedded in it. Has heavy elemental scarring from the effects of his powers, and these increase with every use.
Speech
Due to having damaged his vocal chords, through excessive use and overwhelming his body as a result of his powers, his voice is cracked and rough. Quite deep but surprisingly quiet, even when he yells he struggles to raise his voice higher than a small shout. Incredibly casual and shows little verbal respect for others, his tone is often biting or harsh. Never calls others by title, often using nicknames for people, some of which can be insulting, depending on the person he's speaking to. Voice will sometimes break into a squeak, as he is still going through puberty.

Adrien works with Bella quite closely, practicing dance routines and creating music that will match her performance style. Though he is slightly over familiar with her and will sometimes receive threats in return. They've developed a teasing, playful relationship. Adrien likes getting her to come out of her shell and is trying to help her find comfort in other people's presence.

He also enjoys buying her new outfits, often dragging her out with him. Adrien has let Bella see into his mind so she has a good grasp over his feelings and how he struggles with himself and his upbringing. She shows signs of frustration at him hiding his struggles, but doesn’t bring it up. They very rarely discuss their pasts, he finds comfort in knowing she understands a similar upbringing and they fill their time with not thinking about their struggles.

Current

Adrien found his way to the Limbo Freak Show by chance. They were performing in town, to offer solace to the people during a hard economic hit. When he saw their show he saw a chance to escape from the life he'd been caged to. They saw his interest and saw something in him that was seeking freedom. He agreed to join them and travel to help bring light to other people.

He became their musician and choreographer. The Show has given him a sense of family and he's coming out of his shell a lot, finding comfort in their company.

History

Adrien was born to two musical geniuses. Isabella and Mateo Giovanni de Luca. The atmosphere he grew up in was suffocating and very strict. His oldest sister, Maria, grew to be cruel and unpleasant as well. Both Adrien and his younger sister, Ani, were struggling under their parents. Neither wanting to be constricted to their parent's plan for them. Even from a young age, Adrien has been very talented with instruments and music. The pressure of his parents made him avoid his responsibilities as much as possible in order to push back about it.

Becoming a little jaded and neglecting himself and his emotions, he tried to protect his sister as much as possible. When his father died, his mother grew even more controlling. Likely to help bring some more control into her life, that she believed she'd lost. When he realised she was going to lock him into a life he didn't want, he left home with no word to his mother or sister, only giving Ani a way to contact him.

Important events

Leaving home

Around the age of twenty, he finally managed to pull out from under his controlling mother. Not long after his father died and her treatment and personality worsened. This event helped him escape an abusive situation, and opened up his life for freedom and a chance to be comfortable in himself again.

Joining the show

Met and joined the freak show very soon after leaving home. Working a dead-end, boring job just to survive, he went to see them perform in the nearby town and was brought in by day/night, who saw a great deal of musical talent in him (As well as a lot of pain).

Reconnecting with his sister

A few years after having joined the freak show, he received word from his sister, Ani, that she was free from their parents and searching for her own direction in life. This event took a great deal of weight off his shoulders. Adrien is highly proud of his sister, and writes to her as much as he can.
