Alia is part of an ancient bloodline of powerful mutants that date back to the very start of the Via'Korrik world. Her family have often been used as right hands to the Vlada Par'Gonis, much to the disgust of many of the rest of the world, mutants and Norma-alike. When her parents were killed, supposedly in a Mutant rebellion, she was raised from a very young age and groomed by the Vlada for the role of Grand Inquisitor.

Even the head of the Vlada were impressed with her incredible affinity for arcane magic, so carved runes into her skin to further exaggerate her powers. Originally not confident in her role, she worked hard to adapt to it and has blossomed well.

Despite this, part of her doesn't know if everything she's been told up to this point has been true and she's begun to struggle with her conditioning and what she has been taught since childhood. Especially after getting to know the Inquisition that she leads, who she considers to be family.

  • Props can be an assortment of arcane monsters, weapons made from magic, or the pink/purple magic she uses all the time. Can make her hands glow at will. When using her magic, her tattoos light up and glow. Also can be seen with chains, bandages, or anything she'd need in her role as Inquisitor.

She's an upstanding leader who tries to look proud and confident in her stance, but can be drawn struggling with her emotions. When using her powers, she's untethered and dangerous. Can be drawn being trained, covered in blood, torn and broken up in guilt, chained up, injured, or being tattooed.
  • Her expressions are often serious but she has a softness she shows to her inquisition, the closer she grows to them. Normally looks quite serene, almost as though she’s not fully present. Can look sad, pained and lost when alone. Presents a strong, regal face when leading the inquisition into a mission or battle. Tries not to show her weaknesses towards others.
  • Can be drawn with any member of the Inquisition, platonically, considers them to be family but is unable to lower the wall between them on account of their training and role.
  • Can be drawn with her sibling Aria, the two are not close and are often at other ends of the battlefield. Alia can’t quite bring herself to kill her sibling, so is often sad about the conflict.
  • If drawn with the imperium, she’s often cowed and submissive around them. or going through her conditioning training.

Ko'Vladis is the main Citadel of Via'Korrik, and the home to both the Inquisition and the Vlada Par'Gonis, the ruling class and religious sect that control and create laws in the world. Magic and mutation have been put to use to benefit those dubbed 'Norma', or non-mutated, and runes and magic have reinforced the technology of the world. An advanced civilisation, where magic makes life far easier, allowing for long distance travel, communication and protection.

Adrien works with Bella quite closely, practicing dance routines and creating music that will match her performance style. Though he is slightly over familiar with her and will sometimes receive threats in return. They've developed a teasing, playful relationship. He also enjoys buying her new outfits, often dragging her out with him. Current

Adrien found his way to the Limbo Freak Show by chance. They were performing in town, to offer solace to the people during a hard economic hit. When he saw their show he saw a chance to escape from the life he'd been caged to. They saw his interest and saw something in him that was seeking freedom. He agreed to join them and travel to help bring light to other people.

He became their musician and choreographer. The Show has given him a sense of family and he's coming out of his shell a lot, finding comfort in their company.

History

Adrien was born to two musical geniuses. Isabella and Mateo Giovanni de Luca. The atmosphere he grew up in was suffocating and very strict. His oldest sister, Maria, grew to be cruel and unpleasant as well. Both Adrien and his younger sister, Ani, were struggling under their parents. Neither wanting to be constricted to their parent's plan for them. Even from a young age, Adrien has been very talented with instruments and music. The pressure of his parents made him avoid his responsibilities as much as possible in order to push back about it.

Becoming a little jaded and neglecting himself and his emotions, he tried to protect his sister as much as possible. When his father died, his mother grew even more controlling. Likely to help bring some more control into her life, that she believed she'd lost. When he realised she was going to lock him into a life he didn't want, he left home with no word to his mother or sister, only giving Ani a way to contact him.

Important events

Leaving home

Around the age of twenty, he finally managed to pull out from under his controlling mother. Not long after his father died and her treatment and personality worsened. This event helped him escape an abusive situation, and opened up his life for freedom and a chance to be comfortable in himself again.

Joining the show

Met and joined the freak show very soon after leaving home. Working a dead-end, boring job just to survive, he went to see them perform in the nearby town and was brought in by day/night, who saw a great deal of musical talent in him (As well as a lot of pain).

Reconnecting with his sister

A few years after having joined the freak show, he received word from his sister, Ani, that she was free from their parents and searching for her own direction in life. This event took a great deal of weight off his shoulders. Adrien is highly proud of his sister, and writes to her as much as he can.
