Thulani is the mute and mostly deaf getaway driver for the Venezian mafiosa, the Venezia-Futuris. They are a lightning bird from South America, tied to a family of witches and a guardian to them. One day a gang broke into their home and destroyed their family and captured them. Thulani was forced to work for the gang, alongside Iminathi, who they met later.
The two of them got into a severe amount of trouble, thanks to Thulani’s recklessness and need to protect Iminathi. When Iminathi was discovered to be a God child, the two ran from the gang and ended up being saved and brought to Venice, injured and weak.
Thulani was surprised in the comfort they found in the Venezia, considering it their new family, and Iminathi their new witch. A talented person, they’ve earned a great deal of trust from everyone in the Venezia and use their skills to protect their new family.
Important Features
- Eyes are shades of blue and yellow, with lightning crackling through them.
- Has a large, hooked beak nose.
- Has feathers all over their body, but primarily growing out on their head by their ears, elbows and ankles.
- Has long hair, down to their shoulders, that they pull up into a high ponytail.
- Has a dark brown mask tattoo on their left hand.
- Has an androgynous body shape, with lean figure and slight muscle.
- Props for them are their riding gloves, their jacket as well as a collection of shoes, which they enjoy buying. Can be drawn with almost any type of vehicle, tools to fix or tend to them, and grease or oil on their frame. They don't tend to use a lot of weapons but can use handguns, or with any other gang, or mafia related equipment.
- Poses would be any of their work as a getaway driver, fixing up vehicles, or reading about them. They are quite gentle and kind towards others, very calm they tend to seem relaxed and gentle, often found sleeping or relaxing. Talk with their hands, and make a lot of gestures to communicate to others.
- Their expressions are normally quite friendly, though they're not overly expressive. They have large eyes and their mouth quirks, more than smiles. They express themselves through their hand gestures, and also with very minute changes to their face which those close to them learn. Quite thoughtful, relaxed, and serious.
- Can be drawn romantically with Iminathi, the two are best friends, family and loved ones. They spend a good chunk of their time together and are almost always partners in the field. Can also be drawn younger together, from their time in their old gang.
- Gets along really well with Gavroska, who teaches them a lot of things and they find him calming. They fix up vehicles together, sometimes go on rides together, and he will bring them back books to study.
- Family with the rest of the mafia, they’re all very close. Can be drawn in a multitude of situations or interactions with them.
- Can be drawn with their old family, or the old gang they and Iminathi were members of. Is not close with any of them, hated them for what they did to them but was under control.

An alternative reality of Earth where bombs fell during WWII and destroyed the majority of life and left incredible scars. Leaders from each country placed defenses to protect their capital cities and in place of what society used to be sits mafias, gangs and clans who rule in what is left. These leading households are primarily fantastical beasts and gods, and are often at war with each other for resources and land.
The Venezia-Futuris are seated within the Water City, Venice, where there is no longer water, and the entire city is kept afloat and protected with magic. The Mafiosa's home is a reformatted St Marks and its boss is Crow Venezia-Futuris. Nature has begun to overrun the world, and technological growth has halted, with magic replacing it for the most part. Many lost souls come to the Venezia due to their philosophy of building family through choices, rather than blood.

Adrien works with Bella quite closely, practicing dance routines and creating music that will match her performance style. Though he is slightly over familiar with her and will sometimes receive threats in return. They've developed a teasing, playful relationship. Adrien likes getting her to come out of her shell and is trying to help her find comfort in other people's presence.
He also enjoys buying her new outfits, often dragging her out with him. Adrien has let Bella see into his mind so she has a good grasp over his feelings and how he struggles with himself and his upbringing. She shows signs of frustration at him hiding his struggles, but doesn’t bring it up. They very rarely discuss their pasts, he finds comfort in knowing she understands a similar upbringing and they fill their time with not thinking about their struggles.

Current
Adrien found his way to the Limbo Freak Show by chance. They were performing in town, to offer solace to the people during a hard economic hit. When he saw their show he saw a chance to escape from the life he'd been caged to. They saw his interest and saw something in him that was seeking freedom. He agreed to join them and travel to help bring light to other people.
He became their musician and choreographer. The Show has given him a sense of family and he's coming out of his shell a lot, finding comfort in their company.
History
Adrien was born to two musical geniuses. Isabella and Mateo Giovanni de Luca. The atmosphere he grew up in was suffocating and very strict. His oldest sister, Maria, grew to be cruel and unpleasant as well. Both Adrien and his younger sister, Ani, were struggling under their parents. Neither wanting to be constricted to their parent's plan for them. Even from a young age, Adrien has been very talented with instruments and music. The pressure of his parents made him avoid his responsibilities as much as possible in order to push back about it.
Becoming a little jaded and neglecting himself and his emotions, he tried to protect his sister as much as possible. When his father died, his mother grew even more controlling. Likely to help bring some more control into her life, that she believed she'd lost. When he realised she was going to lock him into a life he didn't want, he left home with no word to his mother or sister, only giving Ani a way to contact him.

Leaving home
Around the age of twenty, he finally managed to pull out from under his controlling mother. Not long after his father died and her treatment and personality worsened. This event helped him escape an abusive situation, and opened up his life for freedom and a chance to be comfortable in himself again.
Joining the show
Met and joined the freak show very soon after leaving home. Working a dead-end, boring job just to survive, he went to see them perform in the nearby town and was brought in by day/night, who saw a great deal of musical talent in him (As well as a lot of pain).
Reconnecting with his sister
A few years after having joined the freak show, he received word from his sister, Ani, that she was free from their parents and searching for her own direction in life. This event took a great deal of weight off his shoulders. Adrien is highly proud of his sister, and writes to her as much as he can.
